Thornton Police investigate fatal motorcycle crash

The Thornton Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Dec. 23 around 2 a.m. on East 120th Avenue, just east of Holly Street.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 47-year-old male was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

The rider was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, and investigators believe speed was a contributing factor.

The motorcyclist’s name is being withheld pending positive identification by the Adams County Coroner’s Office and notification of next of kin.
