Thornton Police investigate fatal auto-pedestrian crash

Thornton Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 10:09 p.m. on Dec. 12 in the 7600 block of East 160th Avenue.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 39-year-old man was driving eastbound when he struck a 36-year-old female pedestrian who was in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured and remained on scene, cooperating with investigators. No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under Investigation.

The female's identity is being withheld pending positive identification by the Adams County Coroner’s Office and notification of next of kin.
