The Thornton Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on August 23 around 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of East 104th Avenue and Fox Run Parkway.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 37-year-old male was traveling westbound on East 104th Avenue when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. A witness reported that a black SUV cut in front of the motorcycle, contributing to the crash. Investigators are seeking additional information about the vehicle and its driver.

The rider was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, and investigators believe speed was also a contributing factor.

The motorcyclist’s name is being withheld pending positive identification by the Adams County Coroner’s Office and notification of next of kin. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that has not yet been shared with investigators is asked to call our tip line at 720-977-5069.
